    Supply Chain Management: et centralt ledelsesbegreb i en ny forståelse af tid og rum

    To nært forbundne tendenser i tiden, nemlig den eksplosive fremvækst af ny informationsteknologi og den stigende globalisering, forårsager nye opfattelser af tid og rum og skaber dermed behov for nye ledelsesteorier og begreber. Et sådant nyt begreb, der dels kan bidrage til forståelsen af udviklingen i den globale økonomi og dels give virksomheder anvisninger på en konkret strategi, er Supply Chain Management. Med et supply chain management-perspektiv forstås virksomheden ikke længere som en autonom enhed på et gennemsigtigt marked, men som et led i en forsyningskæde, hvor fokus er netværks- og relationsskabelse på lokalt, regionalt og globalt plan. Som normativ ledelsesteori anbefaler Supply Chain Management integration af virksomheders centrale forretningsprocesser på grundlag af de fysiske materialestrømme og den dertil hørende information. Hermed bliver informationsteknologien en central forudsætning for supply chain managements fysiske forudsætning, nemlig logistikken. Supply Chain Management kan således forstås som en ledelsesfilosofi, der understøtter såvel globaliseringsom fremvæksten af ny informationsteknologi

    Value Co-creation in the Interface between City Logistics Provider and In-store Processes

    AbstractThis paper develops a framework for understanding how city logistics service co-creates value with users. The users’ perspective in city logistics research is limited, and value added services are rarely emphasized. The framework developed is based on literature on value in business markets, and in-store processes. Two case stores and their use of city logistics demonstrate how value is co-created when changes in delivery patterns and value added services affect especially the use of store employees. Further, we show that there is a barrier to the co-creation of value when services get close to core activities in-store operations

    Red thread from a Workshop

    Sustainability in business is clearly recognized as a very important topic which is intensively discussed in theory and practice. (When it comes to the social and ecological aspects of sustainability, the logistics and transportation industry is often considered one of the prime suspects to be identified as a major polluter reluctant to implement changes and improvements. A workshop was designed and organized in the fall of 2011 to start a discussion on the role that the logistics service industry plays or should play in the sustainability business. The clear objective was to work on the issue – not from the viewpoint of politics and society, not from the viewpoint of industry and the retail sector, and not from that of academia ‐ but from the view of the logistics service providers. In other words, the workshop was designed to help develop a clear statement of the role of the logistics industry. A statement of the logistics industry’s role as the logistics industry understands it. This short paper recapitulates the red thread of the workshop discussions and ends with a summary. This summary is meant as a first draft of a manifest of the industry regarding their view towards the topic of sustainability. It provides statements in response to four basic questions regarding sustainability. As this manifest is made by a focused, but in size and geography limited group, it is of course not representative. Therefore we would like to encourage everyone from the industry in addition to those from outside the industry to support us with comments.     A strategy-as-practice Perspective

    Purpose: Road transport is a dynamic sector with market changes because of liberalization and increasing demand of transport and logistics services. Shippers’ supply chain objectives of low costs and agility and a demanding operating environment due to, for example, congestion is challenging. Haulier competitiveness, however, resides in knowledge, technology and networks so the purpose of this study is to develop a conceptualisation of how these capabilities are deployed and make up effective value propositions for customers. Design/methodology/approach: Two case studies of value proposition development are analysed for objectives of strategic development. Findings: Haulier competitiveness is not a static but a result of resource deployment. From the strategy-as-practice perspective collaborators’ and customers’ resources are considered potentials for emergent strategies and learning for value-creation. Research limitations/implications: The usefulness of the conceptual apparatus lies in understanding strategic development as a result of capability deployment rather than managerial decision making per se. Practical implications: Both hauliers and shippers are able to improve value creation from increased understanding of capability deployment. Original/value: This research shows that innovation of transport companies’ (hauliers’ and other types of logistics providers’) value propositions drives competitiveness. The strategy-as-practice approach is applied as the theoretical lens for understanding and developing strategic outcomes of transport and logistics provision and supply chain value creation

    Underleverandørstrategier i en globaliseringstid: et supply chain perspektiv

    Danske underleverandører står i dag over for den måske største udfordring til deres konkurrenceevne nogensinde, nemlig den såkaldte udflagning til lavt-lønslande, herunder ikke mindst Kina. Denne artikel giver et bud på, hvordan disse leverandører kan imødegå denne situation proaktivt for at sikre egen overlevelse og udvikling samt den nødvendige transformation af denne betydningsfulde del af dansk industri. Udgangspunktet for at diskutere underleverandørstrategier er et supply chain perspektiv baseret på organisering af produktionen i forsyningskæderne. Baggrunden for dette valg er, at den intensiverede konkurrence som følge af globaliseringen bevirker, at virksomheder nu mere end nogensinde må se sig i sammenhæng med sine samhandelspartnere. Konklusionen i artiklen, der er baseret på en empirisk undersøgelse af indkøbspraksisser i fremtrædende danske virksomheder, er, at underleverandørerne må udvikle kompetence inden for produktudvikling, produktudvikling i samarbejde med andre virksomheder, og ikke mindst kompetence i supply chain management

    Dette working paper er en samling af case beskrivelser angående indkøbspraksisser i Danmark. Case-dataene er indsamlede i efteråret 2003 og foråret 2004. Alle beskrivelser er validerede af de deltagende virksomheder. I den oprindelige undersøgelse var 10 virksomheder repræsenterede, men én af case-virksomhederne valgte desværre at trække sig ud af undersøgelsen på grund af meget store ændringer i virksomhedens grundlag. Dette ændrer dog ikke det samlede billede af, at indkøbspraksisserne i virksomhederne er i opbrud. Indkøbet bliver i stadig stigende grad opfattet som en vigtig brik til strømlining af forsyningskæden "upstream" mod råvareleverandørerne. En egentlig case-analyse vil kunne findes i kommende publikationer af de tre forfattere. Case beskrivelserne er en vigtig del af datagrundlaget i projektet "Indkøbspraksisser i et SCMperspektiv", der er finansieret af Center for Underleverandører i Herning. Dataene er hovedsagelig tilvejebragt via interviews med indkøbsansvarlige i de pågældende case-virksomheder. I den forbindelse vil vi gerne rette en stor tak til de personer og virksomheder, der velvilligt har stillet sig til rådighed med indsigt i de processer, der strukturerer dagens indkøb. Når vi har valgt at udgive beskrivelserne i et working paper og ikke blot lade dem samle støv i en skuffe som datagrundlag for videnskabelige publikationer, er det fordi, vi håber, at beskrivelserne kan inspirere andre end os selv, eksempelvis virksomheder og nuværende og kommende studerende med interesse i indkøbspraksisser.     Undersøgelse af hvilke 3PL ydelser der kan indgå i Citylogistik ‐ kbh

    Denne rapport er udarbejdet af forskere på Institut for Produktion og Erhvervsøkonomi ved Copenhagen Business School til projektet Citylogistik – kbh, som er igangsat af Københavns Kommune og støttet af Trafikstyrelsen og InterregIV‐projektet Øresund Ecomobility. Citylogistik‐kbh projektet skal vurdere mulighederne i at etablere citylogistik med udgangspunkt i et konsolideringscenter uden for bymidten, hvor fra konsoliderede transporter skal servicere den indre bys erhvervsdrivende. Formålet med rapporten er 1) en analyse af mulige aftagere, deres leveringsmønstre samt ønsker til leveringer; og 2) en kortlægning af mulige 3PL ydelser, sammen med en diskussion af aftagernes interesse for samt mulige fordele fra ydelserne samt implikationer for et konsolideringscenter. Konklusionerne fra rapporten bygger på litteraturstudier af citylogistik samt en spørgeskemaundersøgelse blandt aftagerne foretaget af Københavns Kommune og Malmö Högskola

    A Systematic Literature Review of Road Freight Transport

    Purpose: This article provides a comprehensive review of the strategic management of transport and logistics services and to identify promising avenues for future research in the field. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic literature review is conducted based on articles published between 2011 and 2016 in international peer‐reviewed journals. 55 selected articles deal with strategic elements concerning hauliers, such as service offerings, costs and revenues. Findings: Themes of hauliers’ strategizing that are discussed in the literature, namely carrier selection revisited, professionalism, innovation, horizontal collaboration, planned and emergent strategies, and value propositions. Research limitations/implications: The research expands on the previous literature on logistics and transport and adds knowledge about hauliers as part of the transport and supply chain. Social implications: In highly ranked transport journals, only two per cent of the published articles concern haulier strategizing, thus, knowledge development concerning the socio-economic and managerial problems of practitioners and policy makers is delimited. Original/value: The study contributes to a strategic perspective by identifying transdisciplinary avenues of research that are likely to likely to encourage hauliers to be innovative
